Review by Madhuja Samaddar (Rating: 4): PERFECT! The location is fantastic especially if you don't plan on driving : it's possible to walk to BART/Caltrain/ the ECR bus within minutes. Several grocery stores and pharmacies are also super close by, as is Burlingame plaza with a host of other services. The Millbrae downtown with several (mostly Asian) restaurants and a small Farmers Market on Saturdays adds to the long list of pluses. Further, SFO airport is highly accessible (under 10 minutes) yet the airplane noise is quite minimal except during winter storms and redirections.
Rent is at par with most other comparable buildings in the area and the immediate neighborhood has mostly apartment buildings. The diverse community at Lamplighter is quiet, peaceful and respectable towards other residents. The manager is warm and approachable and has always been very considerate and responsive in most situations.
With all of the above and with the general cost of getting a decent apartment in the Bay Area at a convenient location, I think small issues like the building being a little old and the units not being super updated are pretty inconsequential. I love the fact that the units are generally spacious with ample light and air circulation.
The one thing I wish I could change is the cost of laundry : $5 for a single load of washing + drying is a bit too steep especially in comparison to other similar places. - 6 years ago

Review by Tom Nguyen (Rating: 5): The location is great ! It's close to BART/Caltrain/Bus (walkable). Stores (Lucky, Lunardi's, Burlingame Plaza, CVS...) are few minutes’ walk. Great schools are nearby, including pre-school (Learning Links). Huge public tennis courts (Mills High) are walkable (~5 min).
The complex manager is awesome, very kind and responsive. My old car battery died twice and she came in few minutes to help me jumpstart (no cost).
Rent is reasonable (some apartments have huge backyard). The complex is safe and quiet. - 3 years ago
