Review by Melaica Dorado (Rating: 1): Living in Maple Place Apartments for almost about 5yrs now, and this is serious, everyday you have to deal with rat noises and it’s irritating, it’s infested with rats and insects. Everything is really old. You have to deal with rat poop everywhere in your suite. There’s even sometimes poop in your plates and stove, it’s disgusting. Furniture in Washroom are made of wood are almost like powder. Laundry room, sometimes their washing machine’s doesn’t work and just sucks your money up, making you pay more - a month ago

Review by Bigmamma doesnotlikeyo (Rating: 4): I and my senior (82) mother have lived here in the main building for 2.5 years. We moved BACK here on my mothers request as she, when she first moved to Surrey 18 years ago, had lived here for 3 years back then and was treated with kindness. I had major concerns as I KNOW for a fact there were infestation issues. I can tell you RIGHT now there have been some. My upstairs neighbor stored her garbage on her patio and I saw a rat stroll on down the wall the first month I was here. We had a tenant who was a hoarder and did not report their cockroach issue until it started to infest other units and the hall. The cockroach infestation took over one half of our building with the EXCEPTION of my unit. The management was incredibly diligent, the cleaner was a phenomenal warrior who, despite the hoarder going to arbitration and refusing to leave, cleaned the halls and eventually cleaned the unit and another that had become a nightmare of infestation. All the appliances, carpets, light fixtures cabinetry etc. had to be torn out. What people constantly FAIL to realize is that if an issue is not reported in a timely manner - IT CAN'T GET FIXED. I have had several small issues, loose doorknob, mailbox broken, fuse blown, ants from my idiot neighbor and her garbage, the RAT and a couple of noise complaints AGAINST my idiot neighbor and the issues have been addressed promptly with no challenging my perspective. Some people do not know how to get things done... all it takes -REALLY - is MANNERS. I am in a position to hear and see most of the office interactions. The people who have posted the most recent negative comments, I KNOW FOR A FACT have been hostile aggressive and verbally abusive to the management but cry about lousy management. Review by Fred Isaksson (Rating: 1): The analysis is on going, all apartment buildings have pest issues and that is hard to control. when management fails to do proactive treatment things can escalate quickly especially in the warmer weather. When staff blame individuals for out breaks and threaten eviction and extort pest control fees from tenants in hopes if they pay they may not lose their housing is despicable. The management is required to attend to pest issues post haste for the health and safety of all. The pests are always present and move around, to displace people for out breaks of an ever existing issue that is only successfully treated by completely tenting and fumigating the complex in its entirety is wrong. Understand this, maple place apartments is scheduled for demolition over the next 2 years and the tenants are entitled to an end tenancy compensation package which is determined by length of tenancies. It is a financial benefit to have long term tenants removed and replaced with fixed term tenants whereas the end date is close to demolition and then reverts to month to month. It is in the owners interest to save....250 suites x est $3.000.00 per 1 bed to $7.000.00 per 3 bed by getting management to find cause to evict. If this is put into practice and you are involved you need to apply to the Residential Tenancy Branch where they have record of allegations and you can be compensated and prevent this from happening to others. Also expect bad service as an incentive to move, hang in there and stand up for your rights, there is help available. there is currently cases under review and a follow up post will be available.
    Warm regards,

Review by LH LH (Rating: 1): If you don't mind cockroaches, mice, bedbugs and stinkbugs.. then this is the place for you. These people are slum lords. The building are old and and they don't repair anything. When I first moved in, told them my thermostat didn't work, their solution was to shrug and then showed me how to turn the heat on and off on the hot water base heater in the living room.. needed multiple space heaters to stay warm in the winter. The windows are single pane, so it gets really cold really fast. As I moved out I found black mold in the bedroom and had to throw out most of my belongings. Disgusting buildings. Poorly run. And they will evict you soon anyways to build 30 story towers. - 9 months ago
