Review by Shady Bee (Rating: 4): Ottawa downtown, 1 bed on the winter months. It took some months but eventually the right tenant came by. I tried the 30 day ads for a month but got no leads. Went back to the basic plan and just waited. I do find logging in with two factor on a little annoying. The emails always goes to my spam. A solid 4 star. I like rental.ca. Certainly a great alternative to marketplace and Kijiji is dead. - 4 weeks ago
Review by Clément Yélou (Rating: 5): Communication through this rent portal has exceeded my expectations. It is reliable, and people really trust it. Thank you to the portal's management team. - 2 weeks ago
Review by Rina (Rating: 2): Used to love using this site to post my rental listings. In the last year the user experience has been awful. The site is poorly run with constant glitching, freezing, loss of information. Not even worth it to take the time to post anymore because leads have fallen off significantly - probably due to the poor website experience. A real shame as they used to have a really operational product - too bad. - 2 months ago
Review by Lily T. (Rating: 1): As a landlord, I listed my property on rentals.ca. But it was disapproved. Rentals.ca told me that I had to submit my ID online to a third party (i.e., Persona). Seeing and hearing a lot of data breaches online, I didn't want to send my ID online, so I offered to go to their office in the Toronto area for verification since I live nearby.
Jocelyne at rentals.ca said that there was no way I could submit ID verification in person. This doesn't make sense at all. Why can't they do ID verification in person if their purpose is to ensure site security as they said?
It seems like their online verification is not for site security at all. Otherwise, they don't mind having verification in person for those who can visit their office.
Can I trust rentals.ca to manage landlords' information online? I don't think so. Look at what they have tried to do with their Google's reviews. According to Google, it is clearly stated that businesses are not allowed to remove negative reviews without consulting with Google first. It is so mind blowing since Rentals.ca can place negative reviews at the bottom of the list, even if they were posted more recently than other reviews. Rentals.ca management can also choose not to display negative reviews in the main list, only showing them for the lowest rating. How can they do so with Google search engine giant? - 6 months ago
